Ukraine is spearheading plans to boost its international image as a business travel destination with a high-profile presence at this year's EIBTM, - EIBTM Daily Magazine, Geneva.
Mission Ukraine-Cognita - the destination marketing organization set up two years ago - has drawn up an ambitious expansion blueprint aimed at attracting more MICE business to the country.
A reception at the Ukraine stand yesterday was attended by the Minister of Tourism, Valery Tsybukh, and the Deputy Prime Minister, Dmytro Tabachnik.
Chris Pentz of Pentz Group Communications in Philadelphia has been impressed with the preparedness of the exhibitors at the EIBTM. Organising healthcare conferences, she was surprised to see Ukraine present in Geneva. She said she had never thought of taking her business to Ukraine but would now reconsider since it was a new destination.
2003 projects include the hosting of study visits to Ukraine by leading foreign tour operators, close cooperation with embassies of the Ukraine abroad, and creation of an image video with international distribution. Also on the programme this year is an international conference on the attraction of direct foreign investment in Ukraine. Rest of news
