The Charge of the Light Brigade

Alfred Tennyson wrote his famous poem “The Charge of the Light Brigade” to memorialize a suicidal charge by light cavalry over open terrain by British forces in the Battle of Balaklava in the Crimean War. At the 11th kilometer of the Yalta Highway, back in 1856 the British erected a monument, one you can still view today
